While this an auspicious goal, As one of only 400 accredited AACD dentists in the world, Dr. Edgerton has participated for many years giving abused women their lives back by restoring their smiles.

AACD

How It Works

Sponsored by Heraeus Kulzer’s Venus White line of whitening treatment, the AACD’s Give Back A Smile program works when a patient gets whitening treatment at a participating dental office. 100% of the proceeds from the treatment go to no-cost cosmetic dental services for women and men whose frontal teeth have been damaged or broken due to physical violence from a spouse or an intimate partner and have been living in a safe environment for a year or more. This service is provided by volunteer doctors of dental surgery, such as Dr. Edgerton.

“Your smile says a lot about you, so it’s important that you maintain it,” said Dr. Edgerton. “Teeth whitening is the simplest and easiest way to take years off of your appearance. In fact, AACD research shows that the smile is the first thing a person remembers upon meeting you. By participating in our fundraiser, you can get a great smile-and help someone else smile again.”

About Give Back A Smile

The AACD’s Give Back A Smile Whitening Challenge as a fantastic way to make a change. The program was introduced May 27, 1999. Since then, more than 1,400 smiles have been restored for a total dollar value of more than $14 million.

Patients may seek whitening treatments in anticipation of an important event, or simply to brighten their appearance. Whitening treatments result in a youthful look and build confidence, even in patients with happy healthy smiles. By the same token, cosmetic dental surgery for the victims of domestic abuse whose front teeth have been broken in a violent attack works miracles for the self-esteem of survivors. If you’re in the Wilmington area, obtaining a whitening treatment through the dental office of Edgerton and Fisher is a win-win: two smiles for the price of one.
